Folgers announced the five finalists for its Jingle contest, The Best Part of Wakin’ Up, and we don’t wanna brag or anything, but we basically called ‘em all the way back in April. Oh yeah:
As Courtney Garcia explained in her post, “The Right Look and Sound of Wakin’ Up,” these contests are basically about crafting and presenting a specific look through an audition tape.
People don’t have a deep relationship to Folgers. They don’t even have a deep relationship to “The Best Part of Wakin’ Up.” That’s why they’re hosting this contest in the first place: to inject a dose of personally considered and crafted personality into an otherwise impersonal marketing campaign.
The five finalists – Troy, Helena, Amanda, Chase, and Ethan – did just that, even if the results were sometimes a little off the mark, and they did it with stuff that wasn’t expressly musical.
Just remember that presentation counts, too. And that we’re never wrong.
