Oh No: 2% of the 98,000 Albums Released in 2009 Accounted for 91% of the Sales

The numbers came out at NARM (the National Association of Recording Merchandisers‘ annual convention), and they are not good.

Like last year, there is a huge gap between the haves and the have-nots in music right now, and even though the number of releases remains encouragingly high, this proportion has GOT to change, and it’s got to change soon.
