This week’s interview with uPlaya‘s CEO David Meredith put forth a pretty convincing argument as to why the company’s hit song science can help musicians. But while Mr. Meredith made a number of great points, skeptical musicians might be better convinced by one of their own.
All good things come to an end and Bandcamp as a free service is no exception. The name-your-price music and merch distribution platform will being revenue sharing with the artists on its site.
Lawyers aren’t the only people the RIAA is throwing money at. CEO Mitch Bainwol receives a $1.91 million in annual salary, with “other compensation” from the RIAA and “related organizations” offering another $123,000.
The RIAA has been investing in first-rate lawyers to fight copyright infringement. Unfortunately, they are not seeing much of a return on that investment.
Change is in the air for the Grammys. Actually, the award show itself will probably be pretty much the same, but there have been some changes to the rules for submissions and nominations.
